Apparently, football was more of his passion. As a senior, he helped the Lancers to a 5-6 record, where they lost in the first round of the playoffs in one of the toughest leagues in all of California.

That year, Berryhill completed one pass for 32 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 21 yards on four carries and a touchdown, and receiving 63 passes for 961 yards and nine touchdowns. Additionally, he had one touchdown returned on the kick-off and one on a punt return! Now that’s impressive!

Now a redshirt freshman, Berryhill is set for his first eligible season with the Wildcats. So far this fall camp, he has been turning heads and drawing high praise from teammates and coaches.

Coming to 2018, Berryhill’s goal was to earn a scholarship. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, Kevin Sumlin and the Arizona Football program rewarded Berryhill with an official scholarship on Saturday.

An amazing accomplishment for a young man, that put a huge goal in front of him. Now, he has the opportunity to showcase his talent this year, after all, the receiving corp could certainly use more depth and talent.

He is a tremendous football player with great speed and athleticism, and it’s obvious his experience in track and field has paid off. Berryhill plays like he’s much bigger, really stretches the field well, and isn’t afraid to go and get the football.

Just watch his highlights from high school, and you’ll come away impressed!
