Arizona Football picked by ESPN to make the Holiday Bowl

As the 2018 Arizona Football season is set to begin, predictions are coming forth, and the Wildcats are being projected to play in the Holiday Bowl this year!

It’s always good to be recognized, and heading into the 2018 season, the Arizona Football team is drawing a bit of attention from the media so far.

Already considered to be a sleeper to win the Pac-12 South, Vegas has given Arizona 15/1 odds to win the conference. It also appears that the Wildcats could wind up in a pretty good bowl game come time this ‘Bowl Season’!

On Tuesday, ESPN College Football Analyst Kyle Bonagura made his week one bowl projections, and has the Wildcats playing in the Holiday Bowl against Iowa. His counter part Mitch Sherman also partook in the bowl projections, and has the Wildcats facing West Virginia in the Alamo Bowl.

Vastly different from last year, where many publications were picking the Wildcats to finish last in the Pac-12 South.

Cal-

Sherman: Cal vs Iowa (San Francisco Bowl)

Bonagura: Cal vs Iowa State (CheezIt Bowl)

Colorado-

Sherman: Colorado vs Fresno State (Las Vegas Bowl)

Oregon-

Sherman: Oregon vs Northwestern (Holiday Bowl)

Bonagura: Oregon vs Minnesota (San Francisco Bowl)

Stanford-

Sherman: Stanford vs Boise State (Fiesta Bowl)

Bonagura: Stanford vs Oklahoma State (Alamo Bowl)

UCLA-

Bonagura: UCLA vs San Diego State (Las Vegas Bowl)

USC-

Sherman:  USC vs Michigan (Rose Bowl)

Bonagura: USC vs Ohio State (Rose Bowl)

Sherman: Utah vs Louisville (Sun Bowl)

Bonagura: Utah vs Florida State (Sun Bowl)

Washington-

Sherman: Washington vs Clemson (College Football Playoff: Orange Bowl)

Bonagura: Washington vs Clemson (College Football Playoff: Cotton Bowl)

Washington State-

Sherman: WSU vs TCU (CheezIt Bowl)

Seems like pretty fair choices if you ask me. The Wildcats certainly have a great chance at having a good season, however, there are a lot of questions surrounding this team.

At the end of the day, Arizona needs to play some good football to live up to the hype! Regardless, it’s just nice to see the program get a bit of attention and notoriety early on!
