After another successful weekend by the Arizona Soccer (7-1, 0-0) team, the Wildcats continue their winning ways, landing in the Top 25!

The Wildcats are on a roll! Weeks after losing their opening game to Albany to start the season, the Arizona Soccer team has been cruising since, winners of seven-straight!

Sometimes all it takes is a bit of confidence to get things going, and right now the Wildcats certainly have it. Following their back-to-back wins over Boise State and Baylor last week, Arizona had one out of conference match-up left before kicking-off their Pac-12 slate.

Facing Cal State Fullerton, the Titans came to town on Friday thinking upset. Unfortunately for them, the Wildcats were having none of it.

The first half started off as bit of a chess match. Both teams seemingly traded possessions and shots for much of it, but it was Arizona that would dominate much of the action, putting together a number of great attempts, but being stonewalled in each of them.

Still hoping to strike first, the Wildcats would have another solid chance just before the half. Sophomore Jada Talley would receive a well-placed pass, but was unable to connect, sending her shot just wide of the net.

Time would shortly expire afterward, sending this game to halftime, deadlocked at 0-0.

Still tied early in the second half, Arizona would not go away quietly. Keeping up their pressure, finally at about 10 minutes into the half, a breakthrough!

Sophomore forward Amanda Porter would connect with redshirt sophomore forward Jill Aguilera who would put one past the Titans’ goalkeeper to make it 1-0! Nearly one minute later, Talley would join the scoring party, finding the back of the net to make it 2-0!

Cal State Fullerton would add a goal in the 69th minute to cut Arizona’s lead to just one, but luckily the Wildcats were able to hold on, securing the 2-1 victory.

The win is the Wildcats’ seventh straight, and improves their record to 7-1 (0-0) overall on the year. Here’s some highlights recapping the Wildcats’ victory!

With the win, the Wildcats have cracked the Top 25 for the first time this year according to Top Drawer Soccer.

Arizona will return to action on Friday, when they travel to Palo Alto, CA to take on No. 1 ranked Stanford  (7-0-1) to begin Pac-12 play.
