Arizona Basketball recruiting is on a roll, now picking up their second commitment in the class of 2019 in the past week!

With Nico Mannion already aboard in the class of 2019, the Wildcats can now add center Christian Koloko to the list of commits for Arizona Basketball.

As we had stated, the 7-foot big from Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, CA has reportedly had high interest in the Wildcats for a little while now, and after having visited the University of Arizona campus this past weekend, it appears Koloko was ready to shut it down.

While in Tucson, Koloko decided to commit to the Wildcats, making his decision via social media. The Los Angeles-based center chose Arizona over offers from; Cal, Creighton, Northwestern, Santa Clara and Vanderbilt among others.

From early observations, this is an interesting pick-up. Currently rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 161 overall player in the class of 2019, Koloko is sure to be a bit of a “project player”.

However, the good thing about him is that he will be around for a few seasons at the very least, and for Arizona, that’s a good thing!

At 7-feet tall and 195-pounds, Koloko has a bit of growing to do, but nonetheless, there is plenty of time!

Originally from Cameroon, Koloko is a raw player that has only been playing in the U.S. for a short while now but has since adapted nicely.

This past season, Koloko had played at Birmingham High School alongside current Wildcat, Devonaire Doutrive. He will play for the uber-talented Sierra Canyon this season.

He has huge potential and upside, especially on defense and could really help bolster the Wildcats’ frontcourt moving forward, which looks a bit shaky and uncertain for 2019-20 and beyond.

While it’s hard to say what kind of impact he will have in Tucson, nonetheless, I think Koloko is a player you take a chance on. He possesses a lot of natural ability and with a year or two under Sean Miller and strength & conditioning coach Chris Rounds, he will make leaps and bounds.

Already he has great fundamentals and shows good athleticism and mobility. Koloko moves well and has a lot of skill around the bucket with a nice jumper that can even extend to the three at times.
