We’re weeks from the 2018-19 Arizona Women’s Basketball season, and as the Wildcats prepare, we get our first look at their Pac-12 schedule!

We’re inching closer and closer to the return of Basketball in Tucson and last week the Arizona Women’s Basketball team announced their conference schedule just ahead of the 2018-19 season.

It’s an exciting time for Wildcat fans as more sports are nearly set to begin their respective seasons. Up next is basketball!

While last year was a particularly tough one for Arizona, things are looking brighter for the future. If you may recall, Arizona finished 6-24 (2-16) overall for the season, but they return three of their five leading scorers from the year before, and bring in a slew of talent.

In addition to that, the Wildcats signed one of the nations best classes with McDonald’s All-American Cate Reese highlighting that class! Also, transfers Aarion McDonald, Tee Tee Sparks and Dominique McBryde become eligible after transferring to Arizona prior to last seaosn.

Now in year three under former Wildcat legend and head coach Adia Barnes, it seems Arizona may finally have the talent, depth and experience to compete at an even higher level.

While it’s hard to definitively say just how much Arizona will be improved in 2018-19, I for one am interested to see how they perform. I do think that it is an exciting time for Arizona Women’s Basketball!

Already preparing for this season, we’re finally getting and idea of who they will be playing. Back in July, the program announced their non-conference schedule, now months later, the Wildcats have now released their conference schedule.

Here’s what that will look like;

  • Dec. 30             vs. Arizona State
  • Jan. 4               at Colorado
  • Jan. 6               at Utah
  • Jan. 11             vs. California
  • Jan. 13             vs. Stanford
  • Jan. 18             at Oregon State
  • Jan. 20             at Oregon
  • Jan. 25             vs. USC
  • Jan. 27             vs. UCLA
  • Feb. 1               at Arizona State
  • Feb. 7               at Washington
  • Feb. 9               at Washington State
  • Feb. 15             vs. Utah
  • Feb. 17             vs. Colorado
  • Feb. 22             at Stanford
  • Feb. 24             at California
  • Mar. 1               vs. Oregon
  • Mar. 3               vs. Oregon State

This news all comes on the heels of the Women’s basketball Pac-12 Media Day. All 12 coaches, as well as a few selected players will represent each program at the Pac-12 offices in San Francisco on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

At Zona Zealots, we are excited to see how the Wildcats perform this year, we are certainly hopeful things will be significantly improved! Bear Down, Arizona!
