Arizona Volleyball (16-6, 5-5) gets back on track after losing four-straight games to ranked Pac-12 opponents, beating Colorado and Utah.

It’s been a little bit of time since the Arizona Volleyball last won, but finally the Wildcats back on track this weekend.

After starting 14-2 (3-1), the Wildcats ran into a bit of trouble the past few weeks. First it was a tough series of games against then No. 15 Washington and then No. 22 Washington State, then it was No. 20 USC and No. 15 UCLA.

Unfortunately, the Wildcats would be no match in those contests losing all four games. Heading into this past weekend, the Wildcats were hoping to get back on track.

First it was Colorado on Friday night. Arizona would open the mach in McKale with a great chance to get things back on track.

Arizona would control much of that first set, jumping out to a 21-14 lead at one point, before pacing themselves to the 25-21 victory.

The second set would prove to be much closer. The Wildcats would do a great job of jumping out to an early lead, but the Buffaloes would not go quietly, slowly climbing their way back into this one, before Arizona ultimately pulled away at the end for a 25-23 victory!

Hoping to get the sweep, Arizona would again take control in the set, pacing themselves to the 25-22 set victory and overall match victory by a 3-0 final!

Senior outside hitter Kendra Dahlke would lead the way with 13 kills, and Paige Whipple would add 25 assists of her own en route to the win over Colorado.

Arizona would return to action on Sunday, looking for the weekend sweep against Utah.

The first match of the afternoon was a tough one! The Utes and Wildcats would exchange points for much of that first set. Leading 24-23, Arizona would need just one more point to finish it. Instead, Utah would rally, but the Wildcats came up victorious, winning that first set by a 26-24 final!

Set two would be vastly different, as the Wildcats would pretty much dominate from start to finish. Leading just 13-12, Arizona would come alive pacing themselves to the 25-13 set victory!

Hoping to sweep the Utes, things wouldn’t quite go Arizona’s way in the third set. Utah would come out strong, taking an early 7-1 lead, before the Wildcats could respond.

Despite Arizona’s best efforts to get back into this one, Utah would end up pulling away in this one, winning the third set by a 25-18 final.

Looking to prevent this one from going to a fifth game, the Wildcats would go to work. Through the first few possessions, they would be tied at 9-9. That’s when Arizona came alive.

The Wildcats would win the next few points, giving themselves a comfortable, 14-9 lead. Utah would try and come back, but it wasn’t strong enough, as Arizona would tighten things up, jumping out to a 20-12 lead.

Utah would try and comeback again in this one, but Arizona would shut the door for good, winning the fourth set by a 25-20 final, and overall victory, three sets to one!

Dahlke would again lead the way with 21 kills and Patterson had 44 assists for the match.

With the victory, Arizona now improves to 16-6 on the season and 5-5 in conference play. The Wildcats will now start the second half of their conference slate, where they will return to action on Friday against Oregon State, followed by Oregon on Sunday inside McKale.
