Arizona Basketball: Wildcats in the Pros, who and where are they now?
By David Rosen
Joseph Blair
This past October former Arizona Wildcat big man Joseph Blair was promoted from assisted coach to head coach for the Houston Rockets G-League Affiliate Rio Grande Valle Vipers. While never actually playing in an NBA game, he did play in many leagues overseas. He even played for the Harlem Globetrotters.
The Vipers overall are 6-3 and in fourth place in the Western Conference. His experience playing under Coach Lute Olson and overseas has given Blair a good foundation of what it takes to compete at a high level.

For his career at Arizona, he averaged 10.4 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game. He played and stayed four years. Plus he helped the Wildcats to a Final Four appearance in the 1994 NCAA Tournament.
In addition, Matt Brase, whose grandfather is Lute Olson and played for Arizona from 2003-2005, was the head coach for the Vipers until this past year he became an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets.
