Arizona Basketball: Wildcats in the Pros, who and where are they now?
By David Rosen
Aaron Gordon
High flying Aaron Gordon has emerged as one of the true superstars not only for the Orlando Magic but overall in the NBA. Each season he has gotten better and better, jumping higher and higher and getting stronger and stronger. This past offseason they re-signed Gordon to a four-year $84 million dollar contract, that says a lot right there.
In his fifth season in the NBA and with the Magic, his numbers have improved in every category. His rookie season he averaged 5.2 points per game and is now averaging 16.1 points per game. In rebounding, he went from 3.6 rebounds per game to 7.3 per game. Gordon’s field goal and three-point percentage have both increased and so has his minutes per game.
This year Gordon has already recorded six double-doubles, including a statement opening regular season game against the Miami Heat in which he had 26 points and 16 rebounds.
He is second in scoring and rebound for the Magic and leads the team in minutes play averaging 32.1 per game. Putting in hard work during the offseason season is a common theme for these Wildcats and Gordon is no exception. Known as a dunker, he is showing versatility on the offensive end with his jump shot this season, making a tough player to guard.
**As of 11/26 Gordon is day-to-day to out a back injury. Feel better soon AG!!
