T.J. McConnell
One of the most beloved former Wildcat player, T.J. McConnell, is living the NBA dream. He is in his fourth season with the Philadelphia 76ers, who are currently third in the Eastern Conference and looking to make a deep run in the playoffs. They just recently acquired Jimmy Butler and have a legitimate chance of doing so.
This season, he is averaging 3.9 points per game, 1.6 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game. Those who know McConnell, know it’s not about the stat sheet but all the intangibles that he brings each night. When he does though fill up the stat sheet, it’s fun to watch! Against the Memphis Grizzlies, he scored a season-high 16 points, 3 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block.
Recently things have gotten very interesting for McConnell and the 76ers. It was reported this week that Fultz would be out of the lineup to see a shoulder specialist. Plus there have been trade rumors of Fultz possibly being trading to the Cavs. Who knows?? What we do know is that this means more playing time for McConnell.
Should be quite interesting to see what plays out. It goes to show once again that putting in that hard work will eventually pay off. Good things happen to those who wait.
