Kadeem Allen

It almost seems like yesterday when Kadeem Allen made the winning layup for the Arizona Wildcats against Michigan State several years back. One of the harder working players under Coach Sean Miller, Allen has put forth the effort to compete in the NBA. He was selected in the 2017-18 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics and was signed to a two-way contract.

Allen played in 18 games with the Celtics and even started in one. Even though his stats weren’t all that great, he gained valuable experience and understanding of what it took to compete at that level.  While playing for the Celtics G-League affiliate Maine Red Claws, he averaged 17.6 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 4.8 assist per game.  He was even named G-League Player of the Week for averaging 38 points per game in the last week of January.

This season, he was waived by the Celtics and was picked up the New York Knicks and then signed with their G-League affiliate the Westchester Knicks. In the 11 games played, Allen is averaging 13.4 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 5.4 assists per game and 30 minutes per game. Allen keep on putting up those type of numbers, who knows maybe he will get the chance to play alongside former teammate Allonzo Trier.
