Kobi Simmons was the first ever two-way NBA player. After Simmons completed his rookie season as a two-way player with the Memphis Grizzlies/Memphis Hustle, he was waived, picked up by the Cleveland Cavaliers, waived by them and join their NBA G-League affiliate, the Canton Charge.
Simmons has played in four games for the Charge. He has averaged 4 points per game and one assist per game in 10.9 minutes per game Simmons hasn’t seen. Last season with the Grizzlies he was averaging 20.1 minutes per game.
As is the case with most players in the NBA, playing time is hard to come by. Simmons will just need to continue to stay focused and seize the moment when his number is called, which he did just recently against the Grand Rapids Drive scoring 21 points:
