With the early signing period nearly upon us, here’s a look at some of Arizona Football’s top remaining targets in the class of 2019.

We’re winding down in recruiting for the class of 2019, and as teams prepare to go through the early signing period, the Arizona Football team is still doing quite well with a few key targets.

Currently holding the 53rd ranked class in the nation according to 247sports, the Wildcats certainly still have room to add a couple more players and potentially improve that ranking with months until the 2019 recruiting cycle is over.

Mostly addressing areas of dire need so far, there are still a few top targets out there that I think the Wildcats could potentially land.

But first, let’s take a look at how that class is forming so far, and which players they have by position.

The Wildcats definitely needed help on the defensive line and are doing just that, by bringing in four players. Additionally, the corners could use a bit more talent AND depth, and lastly you can never have enough offensive lineman, so it’s great to see Arizona have a few big guys coming in.

Also interesting, but out of that list, three are junior college players. Adding veteran experience will be huge for this team.

Now, with just a few top targets remaining, here is who I see the Wildcats still recruiting pretty intently and could potentially land as well.

Perhaps the top remaining target left in the class for Arizona, Jalen Curry is a fantastic player at St. Pius X High School. Does that school sound familiar? Well it is! That is the high school of current quarterback commit Grant Gunnell, who is Curry’s teammate and could help in getting Curry to Tucson.

Curry is big, strong, fast and athletic. He is easily one of the biggest targets for the Wildcats and when you watch him, you can clearly see why.

He is one of the best receivers in the nation, and his offer sheet shows it. Plus, with the players Arizona is losing in the receiving corp, the opportunity is there for him almost right away.

Just take a look at his highlights:

Another huge target in the class of 2019, is four-star cornerback, Bobby Wolfe. A highly touted defensive back, Wolfe interestingly enough is a former Texas A&M commit (Kevin Sumlin’s old team).

Wolfe is long, athletic with great instincts and could certainly help bolster a defensive backfield that could use more talent and depth. He’s versatile enough to play either corner or safety, but I think Arizona would be wise to use him at corner.

When you watch him, he looks ‘college ready’, and I feel he could contend for early playing time should he come to Tucson.

He’s easily one of Arizona’s bigger targets and you can see why:

Another junior college prospect, but Paiton Fears is a big-time player. Physically he’s a mountain at 6-feet-6-inches and over 325 pounds, but he moves quite well for a player his size.

Paiton has a great first punch, really able to engage with the defender to make their life hell. He has a good motor with good feet, he is strong, physical and loves contact.

I really like how he continues to look for guys down field as well, trying to make contact with anyone and everyone he comes up against.

There’s a lot to like about the way he plays, and if he were to come to Arizona, he could really help bolster that offensive line.

One of the other players that Wildcats are still recruiting pretty heavily is Florida-based lineman, Kaleb Boateng. Boateng received an offer from Arizona not long ago and it appears the Wildcats are trying to make a last minute push.

Kaleb is big and physical. Where he excels is in the run game, where he will look for anyone and everyone that he can hit.

He does well in pulling, getting out quickly and in front of the runner to make contact and open lanes. He can lumber at times, but he ultimately does a great job at getting a hand on his defender and finishing out the blocks well.

He has really good upside and you can see it in the effort in which he plays.

These are just a few players the Wildcats are recruiting and could be in a good position to land. Regardless how we finish, we’re just excited to see our future Cats suit up! Bear Down, Arizona!
