No. 2 – The return to the College World Series for Arizona Softball

It’s been eight, long years since the last time the Wildcats went to the College World Series. A program that has been synonymous with winning, has had the unfortunate pleasure of having other teams reach their level of success.

Arizona Softball used to DOMINATE at the division one, collegiate level. Nowadays, we pray for the chance just to return to the College World Series in Oklahoma City. Who knows why the Cats have struggled, but all we know is we want to return to our former glory.

The Wildcats are still a top-flight program and could finally have the pitching to get it done this year, but we will see. Arizona came close in 2018, losing to conference rival, the UCLA Bruins in the Super Regional.

The year before? The Wildcats failed to capitalize against Baylor in Tucson, losing two-straight games in heartbreaking fashion  after winning the first game. With the talent they had, Arizona missed the College World Series again.

Perhaps 2019 will finally be the year for the Wildcats to get it done! I for one can certainly wish!
