Life must go on after basketball, and for former Wildcat Jason Terry, he is finding his niche after trading the basketball shoes for a microphone.

It’s great to have a long career in basketball, it’s even better to have a long career after basketball. Former Wildcats Jason Terry is officially in the transition from professional basketball to professional broadcasting.

The former Wildcat great certainly put together a storied career not only in Tucson but throughout the NBA as well! Following his time at Arizona, Terry went on to be drafted 10th overall in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.

From there, he would do incredible things in a 19-year career that saw many accomplishments. Terry would be a bit of an NBA journeyman, playing over 1,400 games with six different teams during that time.

Over his career, Terry averaged an impressive 13.4 points, 3.8 assists, 2.3 rebounds and one steal per game. His biggest highlight however came in the 2010-11 season when he helped the Dallas Mavericks not only reach the NBA Finals but beat the LeBron James-led Miami Heat.

Terry had a pretty integral role that year, and always made himself known as an amazing ‘sixth man’! So much in fact, that Terry was even given the sixth man award concluding the 2009 season.

Since then, father time has seemingly caught up to the aging Terry who saw the writing on the wall after not playing much with the Milwaukee Bucks last season. Not really getting another chance to play, the talented and savvy veteran is making the transition from the hardwood to the broadcasting mic.

On Friday, it was announced that Terry will be joining the Pac-12 Network as an analyst. Interestingly enough, he will also join fellow Wildcat Richard Jefferson, who made the transition earlier this year!

Terry will also join a long list of Cats who have been in the broadcast chair including; Steve Kerr, Sean Elliott, Matt Muehlebach, Richard Jefferson, Corey Williams, Tom Tolbert, Todd Walsh, Justin Wessel, Miles Simon and now Terry!
