For those needing some good news for the future of Arizona Basketball, look no further that dominating performance by Terry Armstrong last weekend.
It was an exciting weekend for high school basketball action, and any body that was looking for a game or games to watch, simply had to tune in to the ‘Flyin’ to the Hoop Classic’. In the tournament were a number of high-caliber recruits, a couple of which being current Arizona commits Josh Green and Terry Armstrong.
While Green certainly drew a quite a bit of attention in the tournament and for good reason, we also can’t forget about our dynamic and athletic 6-foot-6 wing in Armstrong that will also be coming to Tucson next season.
Arizona Wildcats
A standout at Bella Vista College Prep in Scottsdale, AZ, Armstrong has quietly been having a terrific season himself. Not considered to be the “best” commit for Arizona this year by any means, nonetheless Armstrong is still highly rated and is a tremendous addition for 2019.
As is stands, he is the No. 58 overall player in the class, while being considered to be the No. 6 shooting guard and the No. 3 overall player in Arizona according to 247sports.
Well, while in Dayton, OH this weekend, and on the one the biggest stages, Armstrong showed just exactly what he can do… dominate!
For those who aren’t familiar with this kids’ game, pay attention, you’re about to learn.
Against ISA at Andrews Osborne Academy (OH), Armstrong put on show for those in attendance and/or watching. On Sunday afternoon in Dayton, the star wing put on a dunking clinic, driving to the rim and throwing it down.
The high school senior finished the first half, with 26 points, throwing down eight, rim-rattling dunks.
Much like this one…
Bella Vista Prep would go on to win the game by a 95-64 final. Armstrong finished the game with 30 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a block in the dominating performance.
Here were a few highlights from his game on Sunday afternoon.

Excited now? We are!
Armstrong is a very versatile basketball player, and as we’ve said before, he’s very much a combo player. He’s able to play the two-guard and small forward positions with relative ease, and has great length and athleticism to do so, while still being a high-impact player!
He’s a very efficient scorer (see video above), showing the ability to score at all three levels, and possesses great explosiveness and overall athleticism.
Just from watching him, there’s a lot to like here, and you can clearly see that he plays with a lot of confidence. Overall, Terry just does a lot of things really well and the Wildcats clearly got a good one!
At Zona Zealots, we are happy to have seen the way Terry played this weekend and are glad he was able to show others what we’ve been seeing out of him! Bear Down, Arizona!
