Las Vegas, NV- Fresh off the 2018 National Championship, the Arizona Women’s Golf team travels to Vegas to win the Rebel Beach Invitational.

It’s been a challenging year for the Arizona Women’s Golf team, being the 2018 National Champions has surely put a target on Arizona, and teams are coming with their best.

Having played against some tremendous competition thus far, the Wildcats would have another challenging event starting on Monday, as they traveled to Las Vegas to play in the Rebel Beach Invitational.

Also invited to the event was; Oregon, Colorado, Virginia and BYU among others.

Looking to get things going and hopefully have a big showing, the Wildcats certainly came ready to play!

On day one, playing individual play, the Wildcats looked great in their first two rounds. Largely led by senior Bianca Pagdanganan, she finished the day second overall in the tournament, shooting a (-3).

Bianca would start the day, birdieing on five of her first eight holes, ultimately pacing herself to the big day. Not far behind her, was Haley Moore, the big-hitting senior shot a (+1) on the day, and with the help of these two, the Cats led after day one with a four-stroke lead over host UNLV.

Day two would be a bit more of the same, with Arizona looking impressive from start to finish. Pagdanganan would struggled on day two of the invitational, shooting a 78 or (+6) on the day, but luckily it was freshman Ya Chun Chang and Sandra Nordaas that had great rounds to help pace Arizona to the invitational win.

After the two days, the Wildcats would finish shooting a combined (+14), which was still four-strokes better than host UNLV.

Pagdanganan would have the best performance of all the Wildcats golfers this week, finishing three-over for the tournament and finishing tied for third overall.

Moore would be right behind her with a (+4), tying for sixth overall.

With the invitational win, the Cats get back on track a bit, before returning to action for the Wildcat invitational next month, followed by the Hawkeye Invitational and the ASU Invitational.

With still some time left on the year, Arizona is just looking to get back to the tournament and defend their title!
