Arizona Basketball: Looks To Take Down The Beavers

Arizona Basketball: Wheels up to Corvallis as the Wildcats look to continue their winning ways against the Beavers
The Wildcats are coming off a successful weekend over the Bay Area schools in both Stanford and Cal. Now the Arizona Basketball team will look to ride the recent wave of success as they head out on a tough road trip.
Traveling to Oregon can be quite difficult for many reasons, challenges ranging from the weather, all the way to playing inside Gill Coliseum. Gill Coliseum is the home of the Oregon State Beavers and it is guaranteed to be rocking on Thursday night when the Wildcats come to town.

The Beavers will be looking to seek revenge on the Wildcats who beat them last time they took to the floor. On that night in January at the McKale Center, the Wildcat used a strong performance from their freshman point guard Brandon Williams who led the team with 20 points.
The Cats also took advantage of the offensive rebounding, despite losing Chase Jeter early in that game to a scary fall. All this led to a happy night in Tucson as the Wildcats went on to win 82-71 over the Beavers.
The Beavers will again rely on their senior star, Tres Tinkle, who will likely run the show on Thursday night. The senior is having a stellar year, as he is averaging 19 points per game along with nine rebounds to go with four assists.
With that being said, it will be pivotal for the Wildcats to contain him and not let him get a hot hand. This game will go as far as Tinkle, as the fans and his teammates will also look to feed off of him any chance they get.
Sean Miller will most likely have to rotate through multiple guys as he tries to shut down Tinkle. It will have to be a total team effort, as well as help side defense that will play a major role in this one. An interesting match-up would be to see Devonaire Doutrive on him as he has the length and quickness to stay in front at all times.
The Wildcats can silence the crowd by attacking on the offensive end and quickly. If the Cats attack the Beavers like they did in McKale, than they should have a great chance to win the game. With Jeter playing at such a high level and Ira Lee finding a groove late in the season the Cats should be able to dominate down low on both ends of the floor.
Do not look now, but the Wildcats have some momentum coming down the home stretch. With three games left in the season and the PAC-12 tournament right around the corner, other teams in the PAC-12 are hoping they don’t see the Cats in Vegas. As always Bear Down and Go Wildcats!
