The newly constructed Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center will have a huge impact on Arizona Athletics for years to come.

For those who may still be unaware, thanks to Cole and Jeannie Davis, Arizona Athletics has a new indoor facility that will benefit everyone, including Wildcat fans. This sparkling new indoor facility offers great flexibility to all Wildcat sports, and on game days, it will provide fans with something to enjoy as well. This is a major win for University of Arizona sports.

The new indoor sports center offers a climate controlled area with a 90-yard field, and it’ll become especially beneficial during the summer, when the lovely desert monsoon season kicks in. Now instead of various sports like football, soccer or even softball having to cancel a practice, they can immediately relocate inside to this wonderful new facility.

More from Arizona Wildcats

It did not take long for the facility to come in handy as Arizona Softball was able to use it on a rainy day not too long ago, allowing practice to continue without much hassle. Head coach Mike Candrea was able to provide his team fielding drills during their recent practice.

However, the new sports center will have the biggest impact on Arizona Football.

Before, their strength and conditioning program, plus camp goes through the summer months and even monsoon season, outdoors. With how hot it can get in Tucson, these athletes will be able to practice in a more ideal climate. Yes, practicing in extreme conditions does benefit this team and allows them to replicate real game situations, but now having the option to practice inside instead of practicing super early or cancelling, is a bonus!

But perhaps the biggest area the Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center will be of benefit, will be in recruiting. While this beautiful facility is sure to impress recruits who visit Arizona now, most programs that are competing for the top talent already have, and have had an indoor facility for their teams to practice in when the outside weather is not pleasant. Now Arizona has that as well.

While Arizona generally has pretty nice weather throughout the year, the summers can get ugly and not having climate controlled facility to practice in during bad weather can be something that turns kids away, but this new facility takes care of that issue for Arizona sports programs.

And finally, if you’re a Wildcat fan, the Cole and Jeannie Sports Center is for you to enjoy as well. Arizona Athletics director Dave Heeke has said that they plan use to new facility for tailgate purposes on game day. This will give Wildcat fans the opportunity to enjoy the new facility and comfortable environment while they get hyped up for the Arizona Football game. What a great facility this is for Arizona sports and fans alike to use and enjoy.
