The Arizona Softball team (32-7, 12-0) stays hot, as they continue their impressive play, racking up the wins, staying perfect in the Pac-12.

One key to a successful season is being able to string wins together. In turn, it creates momentum that the team can build upon and play with confidence during the season. That’s something the Arizona Softball team is experiencing so far.

With the strong play of recent, it’s created a nice buzz around the program, and has seemingly made everyone a little happier. It’s also seemingly made a fun environment inside the locker room, and in turn making the job easier for coach Mike Candrea.

I think we can all thank Florida State, who at the time was the number one team in the country when they beat the Wildcats by a score of 4-3 in order to take two out of three in the series versus the Wildcats. Ever since then, the Cats have said “Why lose again? That is no fun.”

They have done just, winning their last 14 games! Yes, that is right Wildcat fan, our ladies have strung 14 wins together. As for the timing of this winning streak, it could not have come at a better time!

Coincidentally, this winning streak started on the same day that the all important Pac-12 play began, as the Wildcats took out their anger and frustration on the Oregon Ducks. In this series, the Wildcats pitching only allowed the Ducks to score just three runs throughout their three-game series, while the Wildcat offense cranked out 24 runs which allowed them to run rule the Ducks in two games.

This team than took their talent to Corvallis as the hungry Beavers looked to take a bite out of the Wildcats winning streak. Unfortunately for them, the Cats clawed the Beavers, leaving them battered and bruised. Again coming away with a 3-0 series sweep.

Next up was that team from the North, who were riding high as the then 17th ranked team in the country. The Wildcat knocked them right off their high horses by not allowing the Sun Devils to score a single run during their three game series. Again in this series, the Wildcats took the pitch fork right out of the Devils hands, putting it right through any thoughts the Devils had of beating the Cats in Tucson. Is that as bad as not throwing a single pass in the second half and still coming away with a win? Asking for a friend.

The Cats continued their dominance, as they cranked off another five-straight wins, starting against non-conference opponent UTEP, followed by Pac-12 foe, Utah! It is safe to stay that the only running the Utes did was back to dugout. In four out of these five games, the Cats scored over 13 runs per game! Can you imagine the smile on some of the coaches faces watching these ladies put on a clinic like that?

Next up for our Cats is the GCU Lopes, who are also riding high as they won their first game against a number one ranked team earlier in the year. The Wildcats will look to put them back in their place as they head to Phoenix for this inner-state rivalry game.

Wildcat fans be sure to head out to Phoenix, to watch these Cats as they continue to put together an impressive run towards the end of the Pac-12 season.

This team is doing some serious damage and it would be a shame not to support them as they look to capture another title both in the Pac-12 and hopefully one Nationally! As always my fellow Wildcat fans, Bear Down and Go Cats!
