Not getting enough attention in college football, Arizona Football running back JJ Taylor is among the best in the sport, and we explain why!

A lot of times when a great player is at a college program, the skills shown during a game or throughout the season are often taking for granted or can get lost among fellow players. This is especially the case for Arizona Football running back, J.J. Taylor.

It is as the fans expect to have these great athletes compete or play for there school frequently, when in actuality, rare and truly great players like Taylor don’t come along very often.

So what kind of talent does Arizona have on their hands with Taylor? Well, the redshirt junior had the proverbial light come on last year. The short in stature, but not in game running back shouldered most of the load offensively, as other teammates struggled to gain traction throughout the season.

Often times last year, when Coach Sumlin would call on No. 21, it was because the team was in need of a critical play or needed a spark to get the team going.

Every time Coach Sumlin called, Taylor answered, posting career high stats in almost every category. Last season, the redshirt junior rushed for 1,434 on 255 attempts which averages out to be about five yards a carry. Essentially, every two carries Taylor was picking up a first down for the Wildcats.

Not only that, but Taylor often found pay dirt as he took it to the house six times on the ground. Using his shifty moves to shake defenders to not only score touchdowns but also break off long runs. His longest run of last year was 64 yards.

All this being considered it should not come as surprise when Taylor got ranked the 11th best running back in college football by 247Sports, putting him among the best to take the field in 2019. There is no doubt that Taylor will do his best to prove that not only he is one of the best best, but maybe even in the top five in college football when it comes to running backs.
