Sean Miller still unlikely to be called by judge in FBI Trial
Another day down in the FBI Trial, and despite the “compelling” and “factual” testimony, the Judge is still not compelled to call on Sean Miller.
With more drama in the on-going FBI Investigation, another day in the trial has passed with more hearsay and still no proof of improper behavior by head coach Sean Miller.
We’ve been over this for quite some now, the information that has been presented by Christian Dawkins and others in the FBI trial case surely makes for great headlines, but lacks in any sustenance.
Arizona Wildcats
On Wednesday, that was no different.
As the trial picked back up on Wednesday, finally, this was to be the proverbial “nail in the coffin” for Miller, right? Wrong!
As our site contributor Mark Barrera outlined in our latest FBI Trial update, it’s all been hearsay up to this point. Everything that was “presented” by Dawkins is left to interpretation and ultimately holds no water in this case at this point.
However, that didn’t stop the likes of Adam Zagoria or Gary Parrish seemingly run with that string of misinformation.
However, as the stream of information has continued, the judge in the FBI trial case feels it is still unnecessary to call upon Miller to testify. News of the recent trial update came out on Thursday afternoon.
Why? Would it be because you can’t prosecute anybody without evidence, especially in a high-profile case such as this? Perhaps.
What the gripe we (the collective we) can all agree on, is the clear and unapologetically biased display by the national and local media, which is becoming disappointing. With the endless streams of (mis)information; facts, reasoning, truth, all once virtuous values in journalism are apparently thrown by the wayside by those hungry for clicks.
So when Dawkins utters Duke, UNC or Kentucky in the trial in the same breath as Arizona, this is the kind of vitriol that comes out…
For the record, Gary, there wasn’t any proof on Miller either, the information presented by Dawkins with regards to Duke, UNC and Kentucky is no different than what he said about Arizona. Just because Dawkins said something, doesn’t mean he can’t be lying or exaggerating.
It’s the inaccuracy and perceived bias in the way the information is being reported that has Arizona fans bent out of shape. Here’s an example:
If you want to be seen as logical, you should be neutral, be honest and consistent in the way you’re reporting information. Especially when you try to make it seem like Arizona is the outlier here when in actuality, multiple programs are being implicated and mentioned.
As the ugliness in college athletics is rearing its head, we still need to be patient. While we all hope Miller is truly innocent, we are not in any way defending the potential for nefarious behavior.
Who knows, maybe more damning stuff potentially comes out as true, but what fans are defending is the lack of evidence and words being twisted to make it seem like there is evidence. Either way, we’re just glad an actual judge is ruling on this case, rather than leaving Miller to trial by Social Media.
At Zona Zealots, we are still hoping for continued good news, and can only wish that reporters could be more accurate and consistent in their reporting! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
