TUCSON, AZ- After a historic performance by Arizona infielder Nick Quintana, the Wildcats’ third baseman earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors!

It was an important weekend for the Arizona Baseball team, who are already in the midst of an underwhelming season. Coming in, Arizona just needed some kind of positivity to get things going and hopefully turn this thing around. Luckily, it was Arizona third baseman Nick Quintana that came through in a major way for the Cats.

As he’s done so many times in his career, as Arizona took to the diamond, it was Quintana that seemingly stole the show, in a weekend of dominating Arizona Baseball action.

Certainly not an easy feat to do, especially as Arizona outscored the visiting Oregon Ducks 54-21 in three games, earning another Pac-12 sweep on the season!

So just how well did the Wildcat junior do? Well, in the three game series against the Ducks, Quintana went an impressive 7-16 from the plate with 10 RBI’s, including a three-run home in game two of that series, that ultimately helped the Wildcats to sweep Oregon.

This of course is not to be completely outdone by the 3-5, one RBI performance versus New Mexico State he had earlier in the week either.

If we have learned anything from ‘the Flow’, it’s that he continues to produce at a high level, and is a key to Arizona’s offensive success.

Well, thanks to all his efforts once again, Quintana was named the Pac-12 Conference player of the week! More importantly the Wildcats were able to get back on track by sweeping Oregon this weekend to get back within a game of .500.

With the award and performance, Quintana is now batting .322 on the year with 11 home runs, to go along with his conference-leading 57 RBI’s and 12 doubles.

The stellar performance has also boosted his career totals to an impressive .309 batting average, with 31 career home runs, 150 RBI’s and 46 doubles. WHAT A LEGEND!

As it stands, Quintana is rated as the No. 76 overall draft prospect for the 2019 MLB Draft which will begin June 3. I can’t imagine any scenario in which Quintana doesn’t go the first day, he’s been an amazing baseball player.
