Making some late moves in the class 2019, the Arizona Football team picked up a commitment from California Defensive Lineman, Kyon Barrs!

Never too late to add talent to the Wildcats’ roster, Kevin Sumlin and the Arizona Football team seem to have added a solid defensive lineman for the class of 2019!

Meet Kyon Barrs, the 6-foot-3-inch 285-pound defensive lineman from Murrieta, CA who committed to the Wildcats on Friday afternoon!

Coming in a bit under the radar, Barrs is a late qualifier, after he had recently passed his SAT, and instead will come to Arizona!

Despite having offers from Toledo, Florida Atlantic and Sam Houston State among other others, Barrs was actually set to play at Riverside City College before committing to the Wildcats just in the nick of time!

Luckily, Arizona just happened to have the space and certainly could use a bit more talent, depth and size along the defensive line still! Even more importantly, he addresses all of those areas aforementioned!

While Barrs is considered a bit underrated, he is certainly a great talent nonetheless. This past season as a senior at Murrieta Mesa High School, the talented defensive lineman earned 1st team All-Area and All-CIF Honors, as well as League Lineman of the Year honors.

Despite the 5-6 season with the Rams, Barrs had a terrific season, accumulating for a total of 90 tackles (52 solo), with 10.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks with a forced fumble and pass deflection according to Maxpreps.

On film, Barrs looks like a tremendous player and it shows why he was so productive!

For one, he’s an explosive explosive player that has a fantastic motor and shows the ability to be able to play any of the interior defensive line positions with relative ease!

Barrs is quick, he’s strong and absolutely bullies opposing offensive linemen! He gets off the line well, showing quick explosiveness, and has a great ability to get into the backfield.

There’s a lot to like about Barrs, and one of those things is his ability to play with a bit of a mean streak, something that has been missing greatly along the Arizona defensive front!

Just take a look for yourself!
