Making more moves to the current Arizona Football roster, the Wildcats pick-up another commitment for 2019 in Tayvian Cunningham.

If you thought the Arizona Football roster is finalized heading into the 2019 season, you would be wrong! Making more moves to the class albeit late, are the Wildcats!

Meet the latest commit in the 2019 class, California receiver, Tayvian Cunningham. He will also join recent 2019 commit, Kyon Barrs, who committed to Arizona just a few weeks ago.

While technically a junior college player, Cunningham is a bit of an unknown recruit, since his name hasn’t popped up of late. However, he made his announcement late on Wednesday evening, picking the Wildcats!

A former standout athlete at Will C. Wood High School in Vacaville, California, prior to enrolling at Sacramento City College, Cunningham just completed his sophomore season this past year.

Playing mostly receiver and special teams for the Panthers, Cunningham amassed 486 yards on 30 receptions with a touchdown. He also added another 35 yards rushing on six carries, as the team went 5-6 in 2018.

Even better is his returning ability! In his two seasons at SCC, he’s had a total of 32 returns for 1,165 yards with six touchdowns, averaging 36.4 yards per kick return… wow!

Standing 6-feet and 188 pounds, Cunningham is also quite the speedy athlete, having participated in track while at SCC. As a sprinter, Cunningham ran the 100 meters in 10.47 seconds and the 200 in 20.82 earlier this past spring.

So with the late addition of Cunningham, he should come in with quite the opportunity to make an impact early on. As it stands, Arizona has lost quite a few crucial pieces from the receiving corp from last year, including the recent dismissal of Devaughn Cooper, who was expected to have a big role this year.

While it’s hard to quantify just what kind of impact Cunningham will have, can’t help but hurt to bring in someone of his size, speed and athleticism.

Heck, just from looking at his film, there’s a lot of things to like. First off, he’s fast… I mean really fast. He shows great fluidity in his routes, being able to get separation rather easily, and is great at getting into the deep parts of the secondary with relative ease.

He has a quick release on his routes, showing incredible quickness in his change of direction and does a great job with body control when putting himself in a position to catch the football.

Even better, is that he’s a dangerous returner and should give the Wildcats a great threat in their special teams as well!

Just take a look for yourself!
