Picking up their second commitment in as many days, the Arizona Football team gained another commit for the class of 2020 in a Texas tight end!

For those that have been wanting to see a little more recruiting activity are getting their wish, as the Arizona Football team gained another commitment for 2020!

Meet Texas-based tight end and recent commit, Drake Dabney. A three-star tight end from the talent-rich state of Texas, Dabney is considered the No. 755 overall recruit, the No. 28 Tight End in his class, and the No. 103 prospect in the state of Texas.

Now that’s a great addition!

Considered a good get for the Cats, Dabney is a solid prospect, and one Arizona fans everywhere should be very excited about! Just from looking at his offer sheet along, this is a great addition.

Dabney has over 20 offers, most notably coming from ASU, Baylor, Cal, Houston and South Carolina among others. Despite the impressive offer sheet, Drake decided to shut down his recruitment, announcing his decision via social media on Wednesday afternoon.

While he becomes just the sixth commitment in the class, Dabney is a good one!

Hailing from the talent-rich state of Texas, Dabney has become quite the multi-sport athlete at the Houston-area Cypress Ranch High School.

So what’s to like about the latest Wildcat commit? Well for one, has a big, division-one level coveted frame at 6-feet-5 inches and 228 pounds!

More importantly, he comes in at the very, under-utilized tight end position. Perhaps with the addition of Dabney, this is signaling a change in not only head coach Kevin Sumlin’s recruiting strategy, but perhaps his overall offensive strategy.

When watching his film, the thing to like the most is his overall athleticism. He’s not blazing quick, but he shows plenty of explosiveness to be successful and impactful when coming off the line.

He does a great job at using his big frame to put him in position to make the play, and shows a cool, steady, confidence that’s refreshing to see for a player at this level!

Dabney is a solid blocker, but excels in the receiving game as well, just watch for yourself!
