No. 25 – Craig McMillan buzzer beater to knock off Oregon State in OT

Who: Pac-10 match-up between Arizona and Oregon State

When: 1/23/1986

Where: McKale Center

Game stats:  Arizona’s John Edgar would have 20 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out, but it was Craig McMillan who stole the show with the buzzer-beater, finishing the game with 16 points!

Inside McKale Center on a Thursday evening, who knew the Wildcats would be in store for a doozy?

Back then, the Oregon State Beavers were quite the formidable opponent, but in just Lute Olson’s third season at Arizona, perhaps the tides were changing!

The Wildcats would have a pretty talented group that year, featuring a freshman sensation in Sean Elliott, a sophomore Craig McMillan, Steve Kerr, Anthony Cook, and Kenny Lofton among others.

In this memorable game, the Wildcats were trailing 62-61 in overtime with just about four seconds left. That’s when Kerr would toss a 94-foot pass to McMillan, who would then dribble a couple of times before putting the ball in the net as time expired to knock off the Beavers by a 63-62 final!

Talk about one heck of a finish! This is why this one comes in at No. 25 on our list!
