No. 22 – Momo Jones buzzer-beater against Stanford on the road

Who: Pac-10 matchup between Arizona and Stanford

When: 2/7/10

Where: Maples Pavilion

Game stats: Momo Jones scored 16 points including the game-winner

The Wildcats entered the road game against Stanford one game below .500 and needing a win to keep their season alive. Having only started in one of 30 games played, freshman guard Momo Jones would come up huge for the Wildcats and win it at the buzzer

Tied at 69 with about 23 seconds left, the Cardinals had a chance to take the lead but missed an easy finish at the rim. Jones would then take the ball down the court and hit the jump shot off the glass for the win. Wildcats go on to win 71-69.

That season the Wildcats finished with an overall record of 16- 15 and 10-8 in conference play. They didn’t make the NCAA Tournament that year but gave themselves a chance with a win on the road against Stanford. This would be one of many memorable moments between the Cardinals and the Wildcats in Maples Pavilion.
