No. 3 – Tom Tunnicliffe

Position: Quarterback

Years at Arizona: 1980-83

Stats at Arizona: 574/1,069 (53.7 percent) | 7,618 yards | 46 Touchdowns | 56 INT’s

Tom Tunnicliffe was one of the most successful quarterbacks in Arizona history, and actually held most of the Arizona passing records at the school, that is until Willie Tuitama came along!

He was a four-year starter under previous head coach, Larry Smith and helped guide the Wildcats to 22 wins in his four years with the Cats, including upsets of No. 2 UCLA, No. 1 USC, No. 9 Notre Dame in South Bend, and No. 6 Arizona State.

Although he never made it to the NFL, this still doesn’t change the fact he had one of the best careers in Arizona history and easily makes him one of the best quarterbacks in school history!

Worth noting, Tunnicliffe would make on the Seattle Seahawks’ roster before getting cut, and had the opportunity to play in the now defunct USFL, but chose to pass instead.
