Arizona Basketball hires new Director of On Campus Recruiting

More changes are coming to the Arizona Basketball staff, as the Wildcats have brought back David Miller to be the Director of On Campus Recruiting.

Arizona Basketball never stops, and that statement couldn’t be any truer as the Wildcats have stayed busy for the past few months now. From player transfers, to graduate transfers, staffing changes, etc. we’ve been seeing it all thus far.

Well, it appears Arizona has made another staffing change, this one coming as the Wildcats have hired David Miller to be the new Director of On Campus Recruiting and Basketball Analytics.

Interestingly enough, Miller comes back to Tucson, after recently finishing his second season where he was the Director of Basketball Operations at UCSB under previous Arizona Assistant, Joe Pasternak.

Before that, Miller spent two seasons in Tuscaloosa where he was the Director of Player Development at the University of Alabama.

He will certainly be a welcomed face on Sean Miller’s staff, as David actually spent five seasons at Arizona from 2010-15.

While in Tucson, he served as a student-manager and then later as a graduate manager aiding the coaching staff in various capacities from workouts to everyday operational responsibilities.

It’s worth noting, that Miller is considered to be a budding star in the world of college basketball and I’m sure will have a big impact with the Wildcats again just like he did before.

So what will be Miller’s job? Well, as per the University website, Miller’s responsibilities will look something like this;

• To serve as the primary Video Coordinator for Men’s Basketball
• Coordinate scouting of opponents with Coaching staff members
• Serve as the primary liaison with Compliance to all visitors at practices and games
• Assist in all aspects of the day-to-day activities and development of recruiting
• In consultation with the Assistant Athletic Director, Men’s Basketball Operations Serve as the Point of Contact with Athletics Compliance regarding NCAA, PAC-12 and institutional rules associated with the recruiting process
• Coordinate with the Compliance Office and oversee all paperwork for all official and unofficial visits
• Develop Recruiting videos and presentations
• Coordinate donor related events
• Provide assistance to the head men’s basketball coach as assigned
• And so on…

The news of Miller’s hiring broke on Wednesday afternoon and we are excited for his return!
