It was a scary moment for former Arizona Football star Tedy Bruschi, but he assures fans that he is doing much better after suffering from another stroke.

Life is a precious thing and sometimes it can come at you fast. Unfortunately that couldn’t be any truer for former Arizona Football star Tedy Bruschi, who had quite the scare over the weekend.

The former Arizona defensive star suffered a health scare this past Thursday, as it was made public that our beloved Wildcat and former NFL star suffered from a stroke.

While Tedy was always known for great awareness on the football field, luckily it was his keen self awareness off the field that could have just saved his life.

Moments before Tedy had suffered a stroke, he was able to recognize the symptoms and react quickly and accordingly. He mentioned that he lost feeling in his left arm and started slurring his speech.

He later said  “We immediately knew what was happening. These are stroke warning signs. We called 911 and an ambulance got me to the hospital. Thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers. I’m doing much better,”

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that has gone through this. In 2005 while still playing for the New England Patriots, Tedy had suffered a stroke. Eight months later, he returned to field, seemingly unscathed.

At the time, doctors believed the stroke was caused from a blood clot that had formed in his body, and a way to his brain through a heart defect he had had.

The news of Tedy’s health certainly hit close to home, as Tedy has been an Arizon fan favorite, since first being introduced to the Arizona fan base in 1991. During his time spent in Tucson, he was arguably the backbone of the Wildcats’ ‘Desert Swarm’ defense.

During the 1994 season, he recorded twenty seven and half tackles for a loss, while also taking down the opposing teams quarterback for a sack nineteen times. This earned him the honor of being named defensive player of the year, as well as earning consensus All-American honors.

He would go on to have one heck of a pro career with the New England Patriots, helping their organization to win the Super Bowl three times.

During his time in the NFL, Tedy earned second team All-Pro honors, and even earned ‘Come Back Player of the Year’.

Following a tremendous career, Bruschi was officially introduced into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2013.

Here’s just a few of his best moments while at Arizona!
