Things are heating up as the Arizona Football team prepares for the start of the 2019 season, and so far drawing some early attention is Jamarye Joiner.

For those that don’t remember, Jamarye Joiner is the now redshirt freshman who played a little bit for Arizona Football last season, mostly playing at quarterback.

Heading into 2019, he’s another year older, has a little bit of experience under his belt, but has quite the competition at quarterback. Also lined up under center for the Cats is Khalil Tate, Rhett Rodriguez, Kevin Doyle and Grant Gunnell… that’s quite the arm talent.

In 2018, Joiner played like as many had anticipated… a freshman. That’s certainly not a bad thing, but while he showed promise, he also showed he has a ways to go.

While some have doubted his future at quarterback, it seems more evident he could be making the transition to wide receiver. If you have been following the Wildcats’ fall action on Social Media, you would have seen Joiner getting reps at receiver.

If it pans out that way, it could be a great move for the Cats! Why? Well, it’s no secret the Wildcats don’t have that star power at receiver currently, but that could change very quickly.

Looking to make impacts for this year are; freshman Jalen ‘Boobie’ Curry, Drew Dixon, Stanley Berryhill III, Brian Casteel, Jaden Mitchell, etc. Perhaps Joiner can make the sizable jump!

So why am I a big believer in Joiner? Well, for one, he’s one hell of an athlete! In the limited action we saw from Joiner, I liked the potential he has!

He is incredibly dangerous in the open field, having tremendous speed and even did some amazing things dating back to his time while at Cienega High School.

Additionally, he would provide great size at the position. Already one full year in the Arizona program, and Joiner is now standing an impressive 6-feet-1-inch and 210 pounds.

He’s going to add depth, and I think he has enough talent and athleticism to potentially make an impact! Just look at how natural he looks at receiver!
