PAWTUCKET, RI – Climbing the baseball ranks, former Arizona Baseball star Bobby Dalbec is moving up to AAA with the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Our former Wildcat is on the move again! After appearing in 134 games with the AA-level Portland Sea Dogs the past couple seasons, Bobby Dalbec is now being promoted to the AAA affiliate Pawtucket Red Sox.

After a pretty solid 2019 so far, the third baseman is on to the next level, and the news of Dalbec’s move made it’s way via social media yesterday.

A former standout at Arizona, Dalbec is now rated as the No. 3 prospect within the Boston Red Sox organization and has been steadily climbing the ranks since being drafted in 2016 in the fourth round.

For Dalbec, the timing couldn’t be any better, as we are happy for our Wildcat!

In the 105 games he’s played in thus far, Dalbec is batting a very respectable .234 in 359 at-bats with 20 home runs, 57 RBI’s, 15 doubles and two triples. Now that’s some power!

While he still has a little ways to go to get to the Majors, he’s of course another step closer in getting there! Perhaps now the biggest obstacle standing in his way is current Red Sox third baseman, Rafael Devers.

For those that don’t know, Devers is the young, 22-year old is having a tremendous career with Boston so far, batting .282 with 53 home runs and 182 RBI’s in the three seasons he’s spent in Boston!

Perhaps his future could be at a different position, or even with a different organization. Just before the MLB Trade Deadline, there was potential talks that he could be on the move.

Either way, the reps and opportunity for him to get better are going to be there, and he’s already off to a good start.

After taking batting practice last night, Dalbec went on to have a 2-4 night from the plate in a 7-4 loss.

At Zona Zealots, we’re excited for Bobby and are happy to see him advance in his career and wish him nothing but the best as he moves up to Triple AAA. As always, Bear Down Arizona!
