It’s been a relatively busy off-season for the Arizona Football team, but making the rounds in recent recruiting news is defensive lineman, Kane Bradford.

It’s tough being a college football fan, it’s even tougher to be an Arizona Football fan. If anybody was hoping to avoid any last minute hiccups prior to the start of the 2019 season, unfortunately you’re going to be let down.

It’s no secret the Wildcats have had some rough luck along the defensive line. Injuries, attrition, transfer, etc. you name it, the Wildcats have seen all the ‘seasons’ when it comes to turmoil and ineptitude.

Since coming in, head coach Kevin Sumlin has been making it a point to recruit more size and talent along the defensive line. So far, it seems like that’s certainly the case.

In 2019, Arizona secured commitments from; junior college defensive tackle, Myles Tapusoa, junior college defensive tackle, Trevon Mason, a late commitment in Kyon Barrs, and lastly a commitment from Dallas-areas defensive tackle, Kane Bradford!

Tapusoa got here in time before the spring practices, Barrs came just weeks ago, and Mason finally made it to Tucson recently. However, we were just waiting on Bradford!

Well, now as it turns out, we may have to wait just a little bit longer. On Monday evening, it was announced that Bradford won’t be able to make it to Arizona in time for the fall semester, and will instead likely have to wait at least one semester before enrolling.

Certainly a bummer, as many had high expectations and hopes for the talented pass rusher, but alas, the young man will have to get through a few more obstacles first.

For Bradford, he’s already been through quite a lot, but we’re confident he can get past this and eventually make it to Tucson. I for one hope to one day see him in the Arizona ‘Red and Blue’.

As for the Wildcats, they should still be in a solid situation defensively, and it appears the Wildcats may be okay depth wise. From the Wildcats’ first fall scrimmage of 2019, Sumlin came away pleased with what he saw.

At Zona Zealots, while we’re certainly bummed by the news, we understand the young man has been through a lot and wish him the best moving forward! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
