Arizona Football releases their first depth chart for 2019
We’re inching closer and closer to the start of the 2019 Arizona Football season, and already the Wildcats have released their first depth chart!
The time for Arizona Football is here, and we’re ready for it! It’s been a rather long off-season, or so it felt, and we’re just ready to see what 2019 has in store.
As it stands, not many are anticipating big things out of Arizona, and that’s okay, because sometimes it’s good to just a little under the radar.
Arizona Wildcats
We’ve heard story lines from the media about who shined in camp, and who could possibly have a good year, but you just never know until the pads come on for real, and the results mean more than just a practice scrimmage.
Arizona will undoubtedly kick things off this year when they face Hawaii in just a couple of days, and we’ve already done our best to bring you a bit of a scouting report before then. Now all we were waiting for was to see the first, Arizona Football depth chart!
On Monday, we got our wish as Kevin Sumlin and the Wildcats released the first, official depth chart for their upcoming game against Hawaii.
And as there should be no surprise, we see the senior Khalil Tate under center again this season, and the rest of the offense will be filled out with numerous returning players, as well as a couple of fresh faces!
The true Freshman Jalen Curry will apparently have an immediate impact like we thought. Drew Dixon looks ready to contribute. Robert Congel will finally make his debut after transferring from Texas A&M and Brian Casteel will see an increased role at receiver.
As for the defense, it looks like we finally get our four-man front, with two ends, and the junior college transfer Myles Tapusoa and Trevon Mason will shore up the middle! Finally the D-Line has some size!
Colin Schooler and Tony Fields II are firmly planted at linebacker, and secondary finally has Jace Whittaker returning as well as a few other, familiar faces.
I think the biggest defensive surprise other than the two junior college lineman being ready to play, is recent transfer Samari Springs being in the two-deep at corner! His college experience will surely help this season!
Either way, we’re excited to see how this group performs, and see what we get from the Wildcats this season! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
