We’re already four weeks into the Arizona Football season, and with the Cats sitting at 2-1 entering the second bye week, the focus needs to be on UCLA!
It’s going to be another week without Arizona Football, as the Wildcats will already have their second bye week of the season.
Things are looking up on the 2019 football season, but as we should all know, now isn’t the time to get complacent or cocky. Arizona looked good against Texas Tech, but the road ahead gets far more daunting.

As it stands, Arizona sits at 2-1 on the season, and will have another chance to get some things figured out offensively and defensively, while more importantly getting some guys healthy. So with this week off, hopefully the Wildcats will really prepare for their game against UCLA.
Disregard the fact that the Bruins are 0-3 to begin the year, and have a huge game against the No. 19 Washington State Cougars this week, the Bruins still have tons of talent. They are also largely the same team that beat Arizona in Los Angeles last season.
So while this may just be a perception thing, this is a game that Arizona has seemed to have lost in the past when they shouldn’t. So to me, this bye week is incredibly important! This is a game the Wildcats cannot afford to lose focus on.
Should Arizona use this bye week effectively and use it as an opportunity to truly get better, they will have a great chance to start the year 3-1, which is a huge turnaround from the 0-1 start, where many were thinking the world was ending.
This a game that could give the Wildcats a real chance to gain even more momentum and confidence moving forward. That’s why this bye week is especially important, and hopefully the win and defensive performance awakens a team that many were expecting we would have this season!
At Zona Zealots, we’re just happy to be 2-1, and hope the Wildcats can continue to get significantly better each and every week! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
