TUCSON, AZ – It’s a bye week for the Arizona Football team, and with the Cats taking a break in the football action, the coaches were out recruiting!

It was an action-packed Friday night for the Arizona Football coaches as the Wildcats are already on their second bye week of the season.

With all the free time this weekend, it meant the coaches were out recruiting in full force, and with good timing too. Making the rounds were all the coaches, making stops in Arizona, California, Texas, New Mexico, Florida and even Louisiana.

However, perhaps making the biggest impact today was head coach, Kevin Sumlin!

For those that don’t know, Sumlin is all about appearances, and he surely brought out the big guns on Friday night, as he traveled to Phoenix, and then to Buckeye later in the evening.

Coach Sumlin has been known to use what he calls the ‘Swag Copter’, a personal helicopter used to make apperances at high schools, which has helped him in the past with recruiting. And with highly-regarded recruits Jason Harris (brother of Jalen, and four-star defensive end at Higley High School) and Regen Terry (Florence High School) playing on Friday evening, it was time to make that appearance!

Gaudy? Maybe a little, but with Arizona currently ranked No. 80 overall in recruiting according to 247Sports in the class of 2020, perhaps a little pizzazz is in order! Plus, if it helps attract more recruits, you do it!

Sumlin left from the Tucson International Airport, and took the ‘Swag Copter’ up to Phoenix and then to Florence, and it certainly made some news!

Both Terry and Harris are important recruits in this class, and would be great pulls if Arizona were able to get them!

It’s just cool to see our head coach making his rounds recruiting, and even cooler that he’s doing it in style!

At Zona Zealots, we’re hopeful the Cats can find a bit of a rhythm recruiting, and hopefully we can land some studs for 2020! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
