It’s another week, and we’ve got another kick-off time that’s been announced for the Arizona Football team, and not surprisingly it’s a late one.

We’re quickly moving through the 2019 Arizona Football season and that means cooler weather and earlier kick off times, right? Well, not according to the Pac-12.

As the Wildcats prepare to take on Colorado in Boulder this weekend, the conference announced Arizona’s kick-off time for next week at home against Washington, and perhaps not surprisingly it’s a late one.

So just how late? Well, kick-off isn’t until 8 pm PST, which means the exposure on the East Coast will be just before midnight! Sounds ideal…

To make matters worse, the game is on FS1 which is currently in contract dispute with Dish Network, which means even less television exposure, even for arguably your best team in the conference… Washington.

I know as Arizona fans, we can’t help but think this is getting to the point of being a personal vendetta against all Arizona Athletics almost. I mean seriously, from the Sean Miller targeting stuff, to the lack of exposure, etc. it’s hard not to feel a little bit slighted.

Granted I know there are challenges to try and overcome that will always be there, like Arizona’s geographical location for instance. It’s hot here until the middle of October, and we are in Pacific Time for most of the season, so early kick-off times on a Saturday are not happening.

Additionally, I don’t anticipate Arizona ever getting broadcasting preference over the Alabama’s, Texas’, Clemson’s, etc., but a little consideration or fair representation from our conference would be nice.

I don’t mean for this to come off as a pity party, but you if you’re the conference commissioner, you can’t preach you care about the student athlete, meanwhile having them play that while having to travel.

To make matters worse, Arizona’s paltry attendance numbers will suffer even more with that late of a game. Can’t imagine fans filling the stadium with the prospect of the game not being over until midnight almost.

Again I’m not trying to say the conference needs to give us preferential treatment, but a bit more fairness would be nice.

Come next Saturday, Oregon will have had two home games before 7 pm, Oregon State will have  had two home games before 7 pm, so will Cal, Stanford, Utah, Colorado will have had three, and heck even ASU will have an early kick-off next week.

Why can’t Arizona get game before 7 pm at this point?

Anyways, maybe we’re reading too much into this, but can’t help but just wish for Arizona to get a bit better treatment as one of the Pac-12’s member schools. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
