As the NCAA continues its investigation on a few programs, the National Media continues to show its bias against Arizona Basketball.

Who else is sick of the ongoing rumors and conjecture in the media regarding Arizona Basketball? Ever since the Wildcats were originally implicated in the FBI investigation, it’s been non-stop headlines about how Sean Miller is running a dirty program, or how Arizona needs to clean house, blah blah blah.

For over two years of ongoing unsubstantiated allegations and rumors ad nauseam, last night’s events at the Phog shows the Media’s complicity and bias in their investigation in particular.

What do I mean? Well, it was ‘Late Night in the Phog’ at Kansas last night, the Jayhawks version of our ‘Red-Blue’ game. As the ostentatious events transpired, the national media’s silence through it all again only shows their bias against Arizona Basketball.

For those that need a refresher, the Jayhawks have been notified of level one violations as per the NCAA. And for the record too, Bill Self, head coach of the Jayhawks has had actual text messages that were sent to an Adidas rep, sending things like; “I’m happy with Adidas. Just got to get a couple real guys”, or “You gotta help get me some dudes.”

Despite all that, Kansas is still playing the victim and have responded as if they are being unfairly targeted.

But with such damning evidence and the lack of coverage in the national media, especially from the same talking heads that have called for Miller to be fired, it really makes us Arizona fans a bit bitter, and makes us think their’s a clear bias.

To make matters worse, the optics at ‘Late Night in the Phog’ were awful to put it lightly. With Kansas being implicated in the ‘pay-to-play’ scheme, the Jayhawks brought in mega, hip-hop star Snoop Dogg, stripper poles, and a money gun that Snoop Dogg used to shoot money all over the court and near Kansas players.

Just over 12 hours later, are their any calls for Kansas to fire their head coach like some have said with Miller through this whole drama despite no evidence that he knew what was going on, or that Arizona directly benefited from Book Richardson’s actions? No, there hasn’t been, and again it continues to show the bias against Arizona and only makes fans like ourselves a bit disenchanted in the matter.

We will still stand by our Wildcats and fight for their defense with fervor, even if the media chooses not to, and continues to be dishonest in their framing of the information known.

As Arizona fans, we know what’s true, what’s substantiated, and what’s not and at the end of the day, as long as the NCAA sees that too that’s all that matters. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
