On Sunday, it was more of the same as the Wildcats would have their biggest challenge on their young season yet, as they traveled to Austin to take on the Top-25 ranked Longhorns.

From the start it was all Arizona, as the Cats brought the focus, energy and fight to the Longhorns, jumping out to a commanding 26-11 lead after just the first quarter.

In the second quarter, it was much of the same, as the Cats used a great offensive and defensive effort sparked by McDonald, Cate Reese and Co., pacing themselves to an impressive 38-19 lead at halftime!

Hoping to continue their impressive play, Arizona took to the second half needing to stay focused, playing their brand of basketball.

Texas would open the half by going on a 9-5 run, but that’s about as close as they could get it, with Arizona still leading 52-37 after the first three quarters of play.

Looking to close this one out, the Wildcats would once again use a dominating quarter led by McDonald as the Cats would jump out to a 20-point lead at 65-45 with 6:06 to play, before running the Longhorns out of the gym, by closing the game on a 18-13 run to come away with the HUGE, 83-58 win over No. 22 Texas!

McDonald would finish the game with 44 points and five rebounds, meanwhile Reese would add 17 points and seven rebounds on her own!

With the win, the Cats improve to 4-0 on the season, with Prairie View A&M and Montana on the schedule for next week.

As it stands, the Wildcats were receiving Top 25 votes coming into this week, and after the victory, there’s a good possibility Arizona could make an appearance very soon!
