After announcing his transfer to join his brother Colin, former Oregon receiver Brenden Schooler could have a big impact with Arizona.
Finally some good news is brewing for the Wildcats. Not long after hiring Paul Rhoads to be the new, defensive coordinator at Arizona, the Cats got more good news in Oregon wide receiver Brenden Schooler announcing his transfer to Arizona.
Does the name sound familiar? Yes, that’s because Brenden’s younger brother Colin is the starting inside linebacker for the Wildcats.

For those unaware, Brenden had announced earlier this year that he would be transferring, and while Arizona was likely his destination, nothing was guaranteed in this recruitment.
Nonetheless, on Saturday afternoon it was finally announced by Brenden that he was coming to join his brother in Tucson! Finally, no longer a divided house!
This is certainly big news for Arizona, as Brenden was a standout player for the Ducks who saw just limited action in the two games he played this season. In those two games, Brenden recorded just two catches for 44 yards.
This of course coming off the heels of back-to-back seasons where the elder Schooler had 20 receptions for 274 yards and three touchdowns, as well as 21 receptions for 203 yards and one touchdown respectively.
So what kind of impact can he feasibly have with the Cats?
Well, coming in at 6-feet-2-inches and 197 pounds, Schooler is a converted safety that will play receiver for Arizona and from the get go he will add some much needed size, athleticism and depth!
Also with wide receiver Cedric Peterson graduating, Schooler will come in and provide some experience and leadership that will be absent with the departure of Peterson. He will also presumably help solidify a receiving corp that returns virtually everyone!
Plus, I can’t think of anything better than not only having one Schooler on this team, but two! Just take a look at what he was able to do with the Ducks!
At Zona Zealots, we’re excited for the addition of Brenden and can’t wait to see what he can bring to the Cats! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
