Weeks after deliberation and searching, the Arizona Football team and Kevin Sumlin have finalized their staff with the hire of Andy Buh!

Finally the Arizona Football staff is all hired! Months after the Wildcats had fired Marcel Yates and let go a few other coaches, Arizona made their last and final hire with the addition of Andy Buh!

It’s been a very busy off-season for Kevin Sumlin and Arizona. Despite their on-going recruiting efforts, more importantly this off-season was for Sumlin and the Wildcats to be able to put together a solid staff, and by all accounts, it seems they have done that.

To recap, the Wildcats made their first hire with the addition of Paul Rhoads to become the defensive coordinator just a few weeks ago.

Then it was the hire of Stan Eggen earlier in the week, who will come in to coach the defensive line moving forward.

The only hire left was either for a linebackers coach or for another defensive backs coach to go along with Demetrice Martin.

Well on Friday, it was announced by the school that Arizona has made their final hire, welcoming coach Buh to the staff, who will reportedly coach the outside linebackers for the Wildcats, while Rhoads will coach the inside linebackers.

The hire comes at a good time for Arizona as there is still about a month until signing day, additionally, the addition of coach Buh seems to be a rather solid hire.

Just from looking at his background, here’s why!

Andy Buh (pronounced Boo)

A native of Escondido, Calif., Buh played linebacker at Palomar College before going on to play at Nevada from 1993-94.

Since then, he’s made stops in coaching at Nevada, San Diego State, Fresno State, Stanford, Cal, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Maryland most notably.

A former defensive player himself, Buh has over 20 years of experience and has also proven to not only have had good results, but has coached numerous NFL-caliber players along the way.

So with the hiring of Buh, this mostly likely signals that Arizona will be running a 3-4 defense moving forward and is putting more emphasis in development.

While Arizona may be not be focused on the recruiting part of it all so much, in theory they should be more than making up for everything in the coaching aspect. And with the hires of Buh, Rhoads and Eggen, that should mean better coaching for the Wildcats.
