With things quiet on the recruiting front for the Arizona Basketball team, on Wednesday evening that changed as the Wildcats picked up a big commit in Ben Mathurin.

Things are looking up on the recruiting front for the Wildcats! Weeks after seemingly striking out with a number of their top targets, Arizona got back on the right track, by receiving a commitment from Bennedict Mathurin on Wednesday evening.

Who? Well, for those that don’t know, let us introduce you! Ben is a versatile wing in the class of 2020 that is projected as a four-star recruit, and is considered to be the No. 72 overall recruit in the class according to 247.

More impressively, Mathurin is supposedly considered to be the No. 1 overall Canadian prospect in the class of 2021. However, he is coming in 2020!

Now joining Dalen Terry in the class of 2020, Ben is another solid athlete and is a very nice pick-up for Sean Miller and the Cats, and one that fans should be excited about.

A lesser known recruit in the class, Ben is a standout for the NBA Academy Latin America in Mexico, and has certainly seen his recruitment take off in recent months.

Currently holding offers from Arizona in addition to Baylor and Washington State, Ben picked the Cats on Wednesday evening during the Tarkanian Classic.

So what’s to know about Bennedict? Well for starters, Ben stands an impressive 6-feet-6-inches, with a long, athletic build.

Ben is an impressive athlete, and from watching his film, he has plenty of offensive talent, often showcasing that he is still an effective playmaker and scorer.

Defensively is where he has plenty of upside. Again having great length and athleticism, he looks like the prototypical wing that Miller loves to have.

He’s a decent, but not great shooter with plenty of upside and is a great finisher around the rim!

Just take a look for yourself from his older highlights here!
