It’s an exciting weekend for Arizona Women’s Basketball. Fresh off a sweep of the Washington schools, the Cats square off again with ranked ASU.

Pack McKale! Or at least that should be the goal when the Arizona Women’s Basketball team squares off with No. 16 Arizona State on Friday evening.

Currently ranked 18th and coming off a sweep of the Washington schools, this weekend is a pivotal one, especially as the Wildcats look to come away with the regular season sweep of the Sun Devils.

Additionally, with the two schools facing each other as ranked teams in the AP Poll for the first time ever, nothing would be sweeter than to pack McKale and hopefully helps the Cats come away victorious!

As you may recall, Arizona beat ASU just a few weeks ago, knocking off the Devils in Tempe by a 58-53 final, but with ASU playing well these past few weeks, the challenge won’t come easy.

Luckily for Arizona, the 2019-20 season has been all about making history and turning this program around!

According to the school, so far the Wildcats have made history by accomplishing program firsts like;

  • Having their first four conference wins of the season come on the road.
  • Winning against ASU on the road for the first time since 200
  • Hitting the 15 win mark quicker than ever before in school history
  • Overcoming their largest deficit (19) against Washington to come away victorious.

This team is certainly special, and the work that head coach Adia Barnes has done thus far is nothing short of that!

The Wildcats are currently 15-3 (4-3) and have a great opportunity to build on that and even surpass their successes from last year.

Heck, just getting a win on Friday would be HUGE! Should Arizona beat ASU, it would be their first sweep over ASU since 2000. I don’t know about you, but it’s long overdue!
