Making some last minute moves for the class of 2020, the Arizona Football has added a big commit in Chicago defensive tackle, Shontrail Key.

We’ve finally arrived to another National Signing Day, and with the Arizona Football still filling out their class for 2020, the Wildcats have added Chicago-based defensive tackle, Shontrail Key.

It’s always nice getting a last minute surprise, and today the Wildcats got one with the addition of Key. The standout defensive tackle from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, IL waited until signing day to make his commitment, picking the Cats over offers from Illinois and Southern Illinois most notably.

If you aren’t aware of who Shontrail is, now is a good time to learn a little bit about him, because this is a solid get for the Cats.

Standing an impressive 6-feet-7-inches and 250 pounds, Key is a three-star recruit in the class for 2020, and is rated as the No. 1,711 overall recruit, the No. 128 defensive tackle overall and the No. 32 overall player from Illinois.

From these past two season it is apparent the Wildcats need size on defense, and head coach Kevin Sumlin has done his best to address it. With the addition of Key, that’s a big indicator of which direction the Wildcats want to go.

Shontrail is a big kid with big upside, and should he continue to develop, he’s going to be a force for the Wildcats along the defensive line.

This past season while at Morgan Park he was certainly a force, helping pace the Mustangs to a 7-4 record.

So what’s to like about Shontrail? Well, when watching his film, he’s a big, strong kid that absolutely imposes his will against the offense and we certainly noted his size earlier. Despite being 6-feet-7-inches and 250 pounds, he moves really well for a player his size, absolutely exploding off the line of scrimmage, being able to get into the backfield quickly.

Additionally, he has a great motor, pursuing the football well and absolutely punishes opposing players. Shontrail certainly doesn’t stray from contact and it shows in his film!
