Following their win over USC on Thursday evening, Arizona Basketball (16-6, 6-3) head coach Sean Miller earned career win number 400.
It’s not easy for college basketball coaches to get to 400 career wins, but at the age of 51 and coaching in just 542 games, Arizona head coach Sean Miller got to career win number 400 on Thursday evening!
He joins an elite company of coaches, especially as Miller currently sits with a 73.8 winning percentage, which compared to Mike Krzyzewski’s 76.8 winning percentage, Roy Williams’ 78.4 and Bill Self’s 76.2 is pretty respectable.

Even more impressive, is that Miller did this feat in just 16 seasons, which is an average of 25 wins per season. There’s no telling that when it’s all said and done where Miller will end up with wins.
Granted, the only thing seemingly missing in Miller’s long list of accomplishments at this point, is the elusive Final Four that he has to make. Miller has been extremely close a couple times so far, only to suffer from heartbreak.
We’re all familiar now that Miller had quite the impressive background prior to his coaching days. A former star while at Pitt as a player, who knew the once wiry point guard would turn into one of college basketballs best coaches.
His dad was a legend as a high school coach in Pittsburgh, and it was from there, that Sean got his inspiration to coach.
He would become a graduate assistant at Wisconsin, before slowly climbing the ranks to becoming an assistant at places like; Miami (OH), Pittsburgh, North Carolina State and finally Xavier.
Learning from coaches like Thad Matta, Herb Sendek and Ralph Willard, Miller finally got his chance to become head coach at Xavier in 2004-05. From then on, the rest has been history!
As the Wildcats dispatched the USC Trojans (17-6, 6-4) 85-80 in McKale Center on Thursday evening, Miller has now cemented his legacy in history!
