With months until the start of the 2020 season, early predictions are out for the Pac-12, with Arizona Football being picked to finish last in the South.

We’re getting closer and closer to the long awaited return of Arizona Football. And with months still until kick-off, things are amping up in preparation to the 2020 season.

As of right now, we are just away days until the start of Spring Football, and so far the early predictions are already coming in for many teams. On Wednesday, some conference predictions were made from Mercury News writer John Wilner regarding how he thinks the Pac-12 will shake out for the 2020 season

On the list were some interesting picks from Wilner, meanwhile some of his other picks may have not been so surprising.

And if you have been paying attention this off-season so far, there have been quite a few changes. Most notably Utah has lost some key players, the Washington Huskies have replaced head coach Chris Petersen, Colorado’s Mel Tucker leaving for Michigan State and so on.

So from now until the start of the season, I could imagine there could be some more movement in the predictions, but as of now, here’s how things will look according to Wilner.

Pac-12 North:

  • Oregon
  • Cal
  • Oregon State
  • Washington
  • Stanford
  • Washington State

Pac-12 South:

  • USC
  • ASU
  • UCLA
  • Utah
  • Colorado
  • Arizona

While it’s hard to say just how accurate these picks will be, can’t really blame Wilner for picking the Wildcats last in the Pac-12 South. After all, the team finished 4-8 this past year and essentially enter the 2020 season in a must-win situation in for head coach Kevin Sumlin’s sake.

I do think the Wildcats have the least to lose, meanwhile also having the most to gain. And even with moderate improvement on the defense, and a more consistent offense, I think this team can make a big jump this season.
