Christian Dawkins talks about his conversations with Sean Miller
Heading to HBO in a series called ‘The Scheme’, Christian Dawkins reveals his conversations he had with Arizona and head coach Sean Miller.
Adding more drama to the ongoing FBI Scandal, ex-convict Christian Dawkins is heading to HBO in a new series being presented called ‘The Scheme’. In this new series, Dawkins reveals the never-before-heard conversations he had with Sean Miller and others.
Those who are desperately seeking something to watch during this ‘No Sports’ time, can tune in to HBO on March 31 to watch the two-hour documentary.
Arizona Wildcats
In the documentary, reformed convict Dawkins essentially tries to tell his side of the story in how he was trying to help root out the corruption in college basketball recruiting, by presenting more audio tapes from the FBI Investigation that were never heard before.
Now if I may frank, at this point I’m not sure how fortuitous all this will be, considering it’s nearly been three years since the investigation had started, and we already know what we know.
Additionally, the investigation has already resulted in 10 coaches being arrested, most notably for us, former Wildcat assistant, Book Richardson.
To me, this just seems like a last ditch effort by Dawkins to potentially save some face here and potentially bring down others with him.
For those interested, here is one of the interactions you will see in the documentary as per Dan Wetzel and Yahoo Sports:
"On the phone call, Miller quickly informed Dawkins that he believed that any rumors about Reid coming to Arizona was a potential trick designed for the Reid camp to get more money out of LSU.Christian Dawkins: “In essence, let me ask you this: Do you think you’ll get Naz Reid?”Sean Miller: “No. He’s going to LSU.”Dawkins: “OK, he’s going to LSU, so that helps.”Miller: “We’re not even bringing him on a visit. He’s not even visiting. That’s all [expletive]. Like, I’m looking at our recruiting board, he’s not even on it. I’ve never talked to the kid. All this [expletive] hype [expletive] on the phone, it’s stupid. He just probably said, ‘You know what, [expletive] you. I don’t want 75, I want a 120. I may go to Arizona.’ That’s all that was.”Dawkins made a joke about Wade overpaying for recruits.Dawkins: “And Will Wade — I told Book, I said, ‘Will Wade is like driving up the price of [players]. Cause he’s not even doing like real numbers.’ ”Miller: “I tell you what, ‘I’ll give him credit. He’s got a big set of balls on him.’ ”Dawkins: “No, Will Wade doesn’t give a [expletive], Sean.”"
Not sure how incriminating of a conversation that is on Sean, but it more so shows the corruption with Will Wade and LSU.
According to Wetzel again, Dawkins would go on to say this about Miller in the documentary as well: “Sean should have his own movie agent or manager. He should be an actor.”
Here is a little trailer for the documentary:
At Zona Zealots, we’re curious to see what comes from this and are watching to see how this unfolds. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
