Adding a late surprise to the Class of 2020, the Arizona Football team added a commitment in Junior College offensive lineman, Sam Langi.

Even with sports at a standstill, the Arizona Football team is finding ways to stay busy, especially as they still try to prepare for the 2020 season. One way they are preparing, is by continuing to round out their roster by finding players like Sam Langi.

Who? Well, meet Sam, the towering 6-foot-5-inch, 315 pound offensive lineman and most recent player to commit in the class of 2020. Picking the Wildcats this afternoon via social media despite offers from Marshall and Albany.

Considered a late surprise to the class, Sam was a sophomore at the College of San Mateo this past year, and coming in, he will immediately join the Wildcats after he graduates this May.

With the commitment of Sam, he becomes the 20th commit in the class, as well being the fourth overall offensive lineman added to the class as well (not including the incoming transfer of Matthew Stefanski).

While the Cats do seem pretty set along the offensive line, it doesn’t hurt getting players like Sam who could potentially compete for early playing time, in addition to providing more talent and depth in an ever so important position.

To reiterate, he’s a big kid, and by looking at his film, there’s a lot to like about this late addition.

Mostly lining up at guard, he’s got good raw skills overall.

From his film, he seems to love contact, excelling both in the run and pass game. He packs a great initial punch off the line of scrimmage with active hands and feet.

He doesn’t tend to get too tall, possesses good balance and good overall awareness when it comes to looking who to block. He stays very active and finishes his blocks well.

With that kind of potential, there’s plenty to like, and his college experience will already make him a viable early option if need be.
