Arizona Basketball: Zeke Nnaji officially declares for the NBA Draft
TUCSON, AZ – Following a terrific, freshman season, Arizona Basketball big man Zeke Nnaji officially declares for the upcoming NBA Draft.
We all had to have known it was coming, right? After a fantastic freshman season that earned him the Conference Freshman of the Year award, Zeke Nnaji is on to bigger and brighter things.
Amid rampant rumors of his intent to go pro, on Tuesday afternoon, it finally became official as the Minnesota native took to social media, announcing his intent to go to the NBA.

The news doesn’t come off as too surprising, as many had felt after the season Nnaji had, it was evident he would be leaving the University of Arizona.
After coming into school as one of the lesser touted freshmen out of a very talented group, Zeke burst on to the scene, becoming not only one of the best big men in the conference, but rather in college basketball!
After appearing in, and starting at 32 games for the Wildcats, Nnaji finished his freshman season by averaging 16.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and nearly one block per game.
Already receiving first round draft grades, it’s apparent scouts love his production and like the upside he holds. He’s long, he’s athletic, he’s explosive and should he develop a more consistent jump shot that extends out to 17-feet and beyond, and he’s going to have a lot of teams drooling.
He already is a polished big man with good athleticism and upside, and when it comes to the NBA, it’s all a matter of how you develop. Within a good system and program, and Zeke could be a good big man with a long career!
I know as Arizona fans, we will surely miss him!
Here’s a little reminder of just how good he was this year!
At Zona Zealots, we will surely miss Zeke and wish him the best as he continues his career beyond Arizona! As always, Bear Down and good luck, Zeke!
