With days to go until the 2020 NFL Draft, we look at a couple of the best destinations for Arizona running back, J.J. Taylor.

The 2020 NFL Draft is soon coming and that means Arizona’s J.J. Taylor will soon be getting drafted. The only question at this point seems to be in which round and to which team.

If you haven’t been paying attention so far, Taylor did participate in the NFL Combine a few weeks ago, and despite measuring just five feet-five-inches and 185 pounds, J.J. did a lot of favors for himself.

The small, but sturdy Arizona running back officially ran a 4.61 40, which isn’t blazing speed, but still is rather quick. He repped the 225-pound bench testing weight 19 times, he had a vertical of 34.5 inches, a broad jump of 118.0 inches and did the 20-yard shuttle in just 4.15 seconds.

At Arizona, he was a highly productive back, showing his value not only as a runner, but also as a pass catcher and as a blocker.

Already drawing early comparisons to Philadelphia’s Darren Sproles and also Chicago’s Tarik Cohen, I believe J.J. will ultimately get drafted, it’ll just likely be on the third day of the draft.

While I don’t know where he will end up, I can’t help but think these teams as well as J.J. would benefit the most, and why.

New Orleans Saints

They run a very pass-friendly offense with Drew Brees at the helm, and with him under center they are an offensive juggernaut in the NFL. Also seeing Sproles’ previous success while in New Orleans, makes this look like a perfect fit.

As stated the Saints are very pass oriented team, and with what they like to do, J.J. could be dangerous asset in this offense. He could easily be used as a pass catcher out of the backfield, while also being used as a nice third-down option as a running back.

He would do well with Sean Payton and the Saints, and it seems like this would be a great fit overall!

Los Angeles Rams

Two words, Sean McVay. The guy has been a rather innovative coach in the league so far, and with the departure of Todd Gurley, there’s going to be a huge gap to fill at running back for the Rams.

Now, that’s not to say that J.J. will completely supplement what Gurley did for the Rams, no, just that with the offense the Rams run and the hole that is there, there’s definitely a great opportunity for J.J. to step in and make an impact.

I may biased, but I feel his play style fits exactly what the Rams do and want to do, and would be a versatile piece in the backfield. I like this fit.

Kansas City Chiefs

Andy Reid is an offensive genius, just look at his success in Philadelphia and most recently in Kansas City. He’s done tremendous things with players like; Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins and Damien Williams and just imagine the possibilities with J.J. and Andy partenership!

So why does this make sense? Well, Kansas City looks like they may have at least one opening for a running back, so look no further than J.J. He’s seems to fit the type of player that Andy loves to bring in and coach and have in his offense. Because of that, this seems like a perfect fit!

New England Patriots

Why not? I know Tom Brady left the Patriots, but when he was in New England with Bill Belichick, together those two won a lot of games. However, the real test will be this year for Belichick without Brady.

Will the Patriots still dominate as they always do, or will there be a little regression? Either way, the Patriots seem to do well with these ‘under-the-radar’ players and given Belichick’s success with these small, impactful players (i.e.- Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Danny Woodhead, etc.), I could easily see Taylor fitting right in and being a great player for the Pats.

He’s easily coached, he can be that guy to come out of the backfield and make the catch and can also fight for those tough yards in the trenches. To me, this would potentially be another, great fit and feel like Taylor is the type of player that Belichick loves.
